Fathers Day

Do you remember as a child thinking your dad was the tallest dad of any of your friends? Or he drove the car with one hand. He just HAD to be the best to do that. Or when telling others what he did for a job...he was the best of course. Well, mine was. My dad didn't have to raise his voice, or threaten to ground us, or even threaten with a spanking. I never wanted to see a disappointed look, an upset look, an angry look, or even that "look" you get when he doesn't have a clue what I was thinking. Being his oldest child and a girl, I'm sure there were many moments he wondered what I was thinking or doing when he was forced to give me one of those looks. Being a parent now, I am forced to carry that look on down the line of family traditions. And I also know what that look means. Its when you just cant find words that express what you want to say or question. Its frustration void of words. Don't worry dad, I'm definitely passing it along.

As a young child who saw her dad on a pedestal it wasn't hard at all to brag about everything he did. I had to. He was, and is, the best, remember. He got the biggest fish, the biggest deer, the fastest snowmobile, and he told the best stories.

I know lots of other dads now that I've grown up. I've listened to them, talked with them, and even learned from a few. One thing that still rings true to this day though is this, I have the bestest daddy a girl could ever want.

I Love You Dad
